Welcome to Hiwot, our Membership and Communications Intern

We are so excited to welcome Hiwot Belai to our team to support us with our membership and communications efforts! Hiwot brings lots of new energy and experience mobilizing youth in making intergenerational and sustainable change.

Hiwot is an engaged community leader committed to promoting diversity, equity and sustainability. She co-founded and co-chairs the Association of Committed and Engaged Youth (ACEY), a Scarborough-based organization seeking to put youth at the forefront of intergenerational and sustainable change. She also works as a Harm Reduction and Substance Abuse Digital Ambassador at the University of Toronto.

Hiwot is currently studying Health and Disease with a minor in Anthropology. Her interests include World History, contemporary art and reading any book she can get her hands on.
